Alissa Wetherbee formed the Axe Women Loggers of Maine in 2011. While competing throughout North America, Alissa saw there was an interest in watching female world-class logging sports athletes display their skills. Like many on her team, Alissa has won multiple World Championships (Double-Bit Axe Throwing, Peavey Log Rolling, and Jill & Jill Crosscut). She is also the ONLY person to have logrolled across the Mississippi River (2019) and the Missouri River (2023)!
When the Axe Women aren't traveling around the world, chopping, sawing and axe throwing, they really love cooking and baking! They've been known to enter chili cook-offs and contests...they've even won their share of skillet tossing competitions! When the opportunity to create their own brand of "Axe-Kickin" hot sauces and mixers presented itself , the Axe Women jumped at the chance!
